‘Miss Beverley Hills’: God Wants Gays Dead
March 11, 2010
Once upon a time beauty queens extolled the virtues of world peace coordination and all things glittery…these days they seem to be hell-bent on gay bashing …erm, and fraud!
Hot on the heels of former Miss California Carrie Prejan’s (disastrous) views on same-sex marriage ‘Miss Beverley Hills 2010′ Lauren Ashley seems to have taken up the gauntlet on the gays…
In her quest to become the next ‘Miss California’ the pageant princess let rip when asked her thoughts on gay marriage by Fox News:
“The Bible says that marriage is between a man and a woman. In Leviticus it says, ‘If man lies with mankind as he would lie with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death and their blood shall be upon them.’ The Bible is pretty black and white.â€
And as if that wasn’t enough…
“I feel like God himself created mankind and he loves everyone, and he has the best for everyone. If he says that having sex with someone of your same gender is going to bring death upon you, that’s a pretty stern warning, and he knows more than we do about life.”
Although, she was quick to add that she has ‘a lot’ of gay friends and “There’s no hate between me and anyone.â€
It was only last year that Miss California Carrie Prejean was asked to hand back her crown upon declaring she opposed same-sex unions.
After becoming a poster girl for the Christian right, news of her breast implants and home-made porn videos finally brought the curtain down.
Regardless, when quizzed about Prejean, Ashley commented: “She is definitely a beautiful person and I love that she stood up for what she believes in. I think that’s gorgeous.”
Intriguingly, the city of Beverley Hills has since announced they’ve never even heard of Ashley. Mayor Nancy Krasne said: “The city council was shocked to see statements made by a beauty pageant contestant under the name of Beverly Hills who does not live in nor represent our city.â€

About
There’s nothing like a good night out, and London is right up there with other progressive European capitals as a hotspot for gay nightlife. There is something for everyone, and venues can vary greatly. Whether it’s pumping music with a lively atmosphere you’re looking for, or a more quiet, laidback vibe, then London is the place to find it. Central London is particularly vibrant and you can find a host of venues spread across various areas. From Soho to Leicester Square, there are a range of trendy pubs and bars that welcome the gay community with a friendly smile.
Soho Bars
If there is one area in London that really defines the gay scene, then it is Soho. With more venues catering to the needs of gay men than anywhere else, you can always be assured of a good night. Soho has a small and friendly feel to it, and feels more like a cosy town than part of a sprawling cosmopolitan city. A great bar that was part of the original scene and has been going for over 15 years is Village Soho. It attracts a young crowd but maintains a sophistication found in more mature venues. There’s also plenty happening on Compton Street, and it is certainly worth a visit as it holds many of the most popular bars and pubs in London. This is a must-see for any visitor.
Gay Events in London
You’ve probably heard of the Gay Pride Parade in the famous surroundings of Amsterdam. Well, London has its very own, and being the largest of its kind in the UK, it’s not to be missed. Taking place in July, Pride London celebrates equality and gay culture, and the growing numbers of the gay communities across the globe. The city is transformed with events and concerts happening each day and night for a fortnight. For something slightly smaller and more intimate, the Soho Pride festival is the perfect event. Still drawing big crowds, the one day event is held in the picturesque Soho Square, which borders many interesting attractions and is close by to the bustling Soho nightlife. Both events are mostly free and attract people from all over the world, which means great value and a great time.
Gay Nightclubs
If you are looking for a little more excitement than a bar or pub, then London is fully equipped to provide a great late night out. Clubs are not in short demand in the capital, and the gay community is especially well catered for. In fact, it can be claimed that some of the best club nights in the city are held at gay clubs, with top artists such as Madonna gracing the stage at various venues. Heaven is a very popular gay club which holds some impressive nights, often featuring professional dancers, big name acts, and good dance music. Very close to the heart of Soho is Ku Bar, which was voted best gay bar in central London. With a trendy and modern feel, Ku Bar is a great place to start the night or to carry on, as its late club bar often stays open until 3:00am.

Bollywood Goes Gay With Latest Blockbuster
March 6, 2010
In a culture where kissing on the big screen is considered a taboo, a new movie depicting a gay romance is about to spice Bollywood up.
The promotional poster for âDunno Y ⦠Na Jaane Kyunâ features two shirtless men in a sensual embrace and is being touted as Indiaâs answer to Brokeback Mountain.
Few details have emerged about the script and, curiously, the dialogue is in English – a tactic perhaps to satisfy strict Indian censorship.
The Times Of India reports that well know director Anil Sharmaâs brother Kapil Sharma, a fledgling actor who plays the lead, was âwarnedâ against taking on the role, accepting the offer after other stars declined.
âI feel todayâs audience is mature enough, and they donât want to see typical run-of-the-mill kind of films. Look, at Hollywood, Hasnât Tom Hanks played a gay character? An actor should be open to playing any character conventional or unconventional.
âThe only thing I was particular about, was that this character should not come across as a caricature or just as an object of mockery. I am truly happy with what I have chosen.â said the young actor.
Sharma plays a wannabe model from a small town who begins a relationship with another man as a shortcut to success. His character âAryanâ works both as a gigolo and performs at private parties for rich gay socialites – something that is âquite commonâ among aspiring models in Mumbai according to the actor.
Bollywood has rarely depicted homosexuality even though a thriving gay culture exists in the country.
âI took inputs from my gay friends and also went to gay parties in a group just to get the feel of their lifestyle. I even got hit on by a gay,â smiles Sharma.
Homosexuality was decriminalized in India only last year however convictions were extremely rare with no convictions at all in the last 20 years.
There is currently no legal recognition of same-sex couples under Indian law.

God Save The Queen: Tiny Tina Fired For 34 Year Old Lewd Act Charge!
March 6, 2010
In the ’70s, Ray Fetcho was sometimes known as “Tiny Tina,” a drag queen who hosted parties and gay events in South Florida. While hosting a “Wet Jockey Shorts Night” in 1976, “Tina” was arrested for promoting a lewd act and was later convicted, and now Florida’s health board is using that as reason to fire him from his nursing job at an assisted living facility. The 61-year-old Fetcho has plenty of friends and coworkers who vouch for his nursing abilities and are ready to help him seek an exemption against Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration. The AHCA discovered the 34-year-old arrest and conviction while doing a routine screening inspection of nursing home employees and told him he was no longer eligible for employment. Fetcho was then promptly terminated from his position of 16 years at Victoria Villa in Davie. The state could also take away his ability to work anywhere in Florida as a licensed practical nurse. Russ Cormican, an attorney in Fort Lauderdale, has taken Fetcho’s case pro bono. I promise you that this injustice will be cured and that Ray Fetcho will get an exemption — and be restored to his tenure as an LPN, Cormican told www.southfloridagaynews.com, which broke the story on Monday, March 1.
